Rokudan Kuzushi
This dance is about butterflies similarities to flowers and it is full of cryptic meaning. The entire song revolves around the entertainment of the Karyukai (the flower & willow world), which is the collective name for the areas in which geishas and traditional establishments are located.
This illustration is part of my Collection 'Oriental Tales' , which pays homage to Geishas' beauty and skillfulness in traditional arts. I researched about their names, art practices and dances to create this Collection.
