Sketching on the air! S.O.S
Today I’m sharing a short post with you guys, just a little bit about work and fears.
I travel quite often between London and Madrid and I get very nervous and a bit paranoid when there are turbulences. For me, drawing is the best way to deal with it, though it’s a bit challenging to draw with all that movement! But it keeps my mind away from the fear on the plane.
I can sketch something from my imagination or I can practice my live drawing skills creating portraits of passengers next to me or, like this occasion, I can check a magazine from the airline and draw different things that I find there and create a composition.
For this sketch, I chose a wonderful lady from a jewellery advert and I joined her with one of my favourite frangances, ‘Agua Fresca de Rosas’ by Adolfo Dominguez, a Spanish fashion designer.
It is a shame that the flight London-Madrid wasn’t long enough to work a bit more on this drawing. I forgot all about turbulences and the screams from some kids a few rows ahead.
Now it’s your turn! What about you guys? Do you sketch on planes too? Have you got any anecdote to share?
Just leave a comment. Life is about sharing and I am excited to know your thoughts!
